January 2 - Palm Cove

The beautiful beach at Palm Cove, Queensland.
Today was a wonderfully relaxing day.

Both Brittany and I could not stay in bed any later than 6 am as our internal clocks are not quite adjusted yet.  Brittany made a wonderful breakfast (eggs with sauteed red onions, red peppers, and bacon), we walked the south end of Palm Cove, we took a swim and relaxed in the lawn chairs, freshened up, walked the north end of Palm Cove, downloaded our pictures and we are now updated our blog & adding some of the photos to our Facebook profiles before we head out for some Italian food.

One thing that I had never done before today was to lay out by a pool in a light drizzle!  I know it sounds strange, but after coming out of the pool, the air is so warm that the drizzle made it really nice.  I could have stayed there all day.  I do not like to lay out in hot sun and bake...warm weather with a very light refreshing  shower is awesome!  We even picked up a little colour doing it with sunscreen on.  I can't imagine how incredibly potent the sun must be here when it is actually shining!  Great way to break ourselves in to the sun we hope to have one day soon.  (We really hope for sun when we are in the Whitsunday Islands on our sailing trip this coming weekend :)  The Great Barrier Reef would look so much more beautiful if the water is clear and blue.)

Tomorrow we have booked an excursion to the rainforest on a circa 1910 train = no air conditioning, and back out again on the Skyrail.

Until then, have a fabulous day and be sure to check out the pictures on Facebook!  (That means you have to sign up now Mom & Dad :))

Love,
Kim (and Brittany)
